Xavier Redd is a Philadelphia-born singer, songwriter, producer, and the artist staking a claim as the city’s first Black rock star. Raised in a musical bloodline — his mother wrote for Philadelphia International Records alongside Kenny Gamble, Leon Huff, and Bunny Sigler, scoring a Billboard hit with Jermaine Stewart; his father and uncles sang with Blue Magic — he absorbed everything from doo-wop and The Beatles to the raw edge of rock.
He first emerged as Tru Vocalz, an R&B-leaning vocalist with unfiltered delivery. The shift to Xavier Redd marked a more mature, uncompromising era: genre-bending records that sit at the intersection of grungy bayou rock, soul, funk, and lyricism built for the 215 and every city that sounds like it. He writes and produces most of his own material.
His 2026 album The Redd Room (Tru Talent Ent.) is the full statement — politically charged, emotionally direct, and built for live stages. Standout records include “Try Jesus,” “I Fell In Love With A Monster” (feat. Zay Bando), “Stop Hatin’,” “Rebel Soul,” and “Heart of The Sun.” The project and its singles sit at the meeting point of Silent Success Entertainment and his own Tru Talent imprint.
